Get excited, because there’s about to be a new addition to the Chevy Silverado lineup — an all-new, all-electric truck! The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV sure knows how to up the ante, as it is loaded with new features that you won’t want to miss out on. Our team at Gregg Young Chevrolet Newton put together the following preview guide to help you research the new Chevy Silverado EV. Classic Silverado 1500 styling mixed with futuristic design cues make the all new Chevy Silverado EV a sight for sore eyes. The Silverado EV is exclusively offered with a crew cab and 5-foot-11-inch bed, and is equipped with the versatile six-function Multi-Flex tailgate. Stand out from the crowd with sleek and functional aerodynamic styling, as well as new 24-inch aluminum wheels. And with no engine under the hood, you’ll have additional storage space to load up your gear.
The Chevy Silverado EV reimagined what it means to have a driver-centric and versatile cabin. For starters, you’ll find a 17-inch diagonal free-form touchscreen with Google built-in on the RST trim to keep you connected on the road. And because there’s no transmission, you’ll have a larger center console for added storage space. Our favorite addition? The 60/40 Multi-Flex Midgate®, a feature that literally breaks the barrier between the bed and the cabin. When folded down, you can fit items up to 11 feet in the drunk and backseat area, such as a kayak.
Expect greatness from the all-electric Chevy Silverado EV. This truck is powered by a 24-module ultium battery pack that supplies power to the front and rear drive motors, which makes up the e4WD system. With a driving range of 400 miles, you’ll be able to enjoy the open road for longer amounts of time. Simply charge your vehicle at home with either a level 1 120-volt charger or level 2 240-volt charger. Public charging stations are also available, with fast charging up to 350 kW.
You’ll also find on the Silverado EV RST a Wide Open Watts mode — WOW, literally — that produces over 660 horsepower, 780 pound-feet of torque, and allows the truck to launch from 0 to 60 MPH in less than 4.5 seconds.
On top of excellent electric power, you can expect impressive utility. The WT is expected to tow around 8,000 pounds, with the RST having a maximum towing capacity of 10,000 pounds.
Chevrolet has big plans for future models as well — the 2025 Chevy Silverado EV WT model is slated to tow up to 20,000 pounds when equipped with the Max. Trailering Package.
There’s plenty of tech loaded in the Chevy Silverado EV to keep you connected on your drive. As mentioned above, there’s a 17-inch free-form center screen on the RST trim that is powered by the all-new Ultifi software platform that features over-the-air software updates, downloadable apps, and more. Other available technology includes an 11-inch driver instrument display, 14 available camera views, and a head-up display.
Have peace of mind when you drive the Chevy Silverado EV, thanks to its standard suite of driver assistance features known as Chevy Safety Assist. Another exciting safety upgrade includes Super Cruise™, a driver assistance technology that lets you drive hands-free on available roads.
Chevy Safety Assist features include:
Good things take time, which is why the Chevy Silverado EV won’t be debuting until 2023. Don’t fret — you can reserve your Chevy Silverado EV today! The Silverado EV WT model is slated to debut in spring 2023, and the Silverado EV RST First Edition in fall 2023.
